Quarantine: Day ?
It’s time to do something
It’s Friday. Although lately it’s been tough to distinguish the days without looking at a my phone, asking Alexa or turning on the news. And should be the same for the rest of the month. At least. I do like the Facetime happy hours I’ve been doing on Fridays with my bros, fam, friends and maybe even my Toonsquad tonight, so that’s a little something to look forward to.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda…
Yeah as the days go by during these quarantined times, I think about the things I would be doing right now if things weren’t the way they were. I’m sure all of us do. Going to the office, the gym, out for pizza, happy hours, the game, trivia night, dating, church, concerts and soon in Chicago starts the legendary street festivals, which symbolize the start of our beloved summer. Some of these things we still do, but in a different way. Which is just not the same.
Just do it
I know. We know. All those things we’re missing out on. But I also think about the things I could be doing now, that we very well may not be able to or have thought about doing before too. Finding ways to connect with friends and family is one. But I’m talking about the creative things like starting a new book, re-designing my apartment, writing a short film or two or finding new ways to find freelance work.
Wait..there’s hope!
One thing I did do, which I’m super pumped about, is helped create a short film called “Film of Hope” with over 200 filmmakers across the world, all thanks to a great organization called Muse Storytelling. Yeah, cool huh? It’s basically about featuring the changes our world has experienced throughout the last couple months with the virus, how we’ve come together to help others, stayed apart and continue to fight. There’s also the funny stay-at-home solutions, the proud salutes to our medical staff, singing to help us stick together are just some more of what we’ll see in the film.
But that’s enough for now. More to come. It will come out early next week, but here’s a little taste of what you’re going to see from the filmmakers themselves.
Check it out right here!
And I’ll be back to post the whole short film next week…
