Here’s to more in ‘24
It’s 2024 and I’m realizing that I haven’t posted here since literally almost a year ago to the day. That should probably be #1 on my to-do list for this year right? Well, I think that can be arranged. But for now, it’s time to recap on last year via my shiny, bad ass new vision board I made so I can start manifesting a new one for this year!
OK so let’s see if I nailed all my visions for ’23.
Here we go…in no particular order.
- Since I didn’t visit a foreign country last year, I made certain I did this year with a trip to the Dominican Republic.
- I mentored a high school student preparing for college via iMentor. He’s applied to 4 colleges so far and we’re now focusing on scholarships.
- I learned to play pickleball (along with half of Chicago) and still play today whenever I possibly can.
- I competed…or rather, participated in my 2nd Chicago Triathlon (turned duathlon due to a choppy Lake Michigan).
- I started a new business or side hustle by managing a short term rental via Airbnb & VRBO in my apartment building. See here to book it!
- I got to Denver a couple times to see my sister, a Colorado Rockies game and check out the Coors 150 year celebration!
- I had the privilege to hang out with some old grad school friends from the University of Texas in Austin for a college football game, BBQ and reminiscing on some great times.
- I barbecued for a huge group of friends on my birthday and got the grill fired up several more times throughout the year.
- Met a special someone and she’s getting a little more special every day.
- I wrote several new video scripts for clients, however I can’t say any were technically a new film, so that might be the only vision I didn’t quite reach. Which means that’s what I’m going to start with this year!
I did try surfing lessons for the very first time in Encuentro Beach, near Sosua on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. My RealtorDR client Robert gave me several tours of the area and hooked me up with a fantastic surfing instructor. Did make it up quite a few times, but unfortunately had a sore shoulder for about 6 months after the trip which was totally worth it.
Made some new friends as well at Monkey Mountain near Cabarete.
And met some old friends in Punta Cana as well.
So what’s in store for ‘24? There’s plenty on the to-do list, but plan to continue the side hustle(s?), another international trip, mountain trip, beach trip(s), new hobbies, new and not so new friend and fam hangs, more long bike ride adventures and plenty of more writing to come.
Be back soon….
